The eighth festival will be held for 23 days between October 14th and November 5th, 2017. The main venue for the festival will be ROHM Theatre Kyoto.
This year’s festival will also form part of the program for Culture City of East Asia 2017 Kyoto, including performances of Chinese, Korean and Japanese artists’ work and events encouraging East Asian interchange. As an experimental site of both creativity and exchange, the festival aspires to transform Kyoto into a platform for international performing arts.

Culture City of East Asia 2017 KyotoThe Culture City of East Asia project is a three-nation event based on an agreement established during the meeting of culture ministers of Japan, China and South Korea. The project selects one city in each of these three countries in which to hold various cultural activities in contemporary art, traditional arts, and the culture of everyday life. In 2017, the host cities are Kyoto (Japan), Changsha (China), and Daegu (South Korea).
