The Story of Descending the Long Slopes of Valparaíso
Kyoto Art Center Auditorium
Yudai Kamisato, who has been based in Buenos Aires since last October, wrote this new play and recruited performers locally to stage it in Spanish. It interweaves episodes of migration and death collected by Kamisato on his travels around Oceania, Ogasawara, Okinawa and Latin America.
Locations around Kyoto
This year for Kyoto Experiment, researchlight turns to aspects of the city landscape not adequately covered by information on maps. Kyoto attracts many tourists, but people are rarely aware of places and sites not mentioned on maps and tend to pass these by without noticing. This is an attempt to create and install signs drawing attention to such sites. UMA/design farm and dot architects.

The Children’s Choice Awards: Awards Ceremony
ROHM Theatre Kyoto South Hall
This performance intervention transforms local elementary school students into the official festival Jury. The children watch all the performances, create their own awards, decide the nominees, and present hand-made trophies to the winning artists at an awards ceremony on the last day of the festival.
