Lazyblood featuring Reykjavík!
The Tickling Death Machine
A music concert turns into an unpredictable performance!? The punk avant-garde unit from Iceland lands in Japan!
No one knows what will happen. The work from Iceland blends live music and dance. It spins the audience like a roller-coaster at breathless speed! Lazyblood, with Erna Ómarsdóttir, choreographer, and Valdimar Jóhannsson, composer, has been touring internationally for the past few years. Shifting back and forth between high and low art freely, they radically provoke the audience. Their thrilling live show crosses the border between the stage and audience and turns every venue they perform into a deep chaotic world. Erna has performed with world-renowned artists and choreographers such as Jan Fabre. She also has collaborated with leading musicians from Iceland such as Björk, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Ólöf Arnalds and more. Started as a band, Lazyblood is now recognized as a performing arts company and mainly puts on shows around Europe. Together with Reykjavík!, the Icelandic punk rock band, they come to perform at Metro in Kyoto. As an island located at the tip of Northen Europe, Iceland has developed a unique culture. Lazyblood was born and raised in such an alternative environment. Their unpredictable performances challenge our notion of what a live show is!
The two members of Lazyblood, Valdimar Jóhannsson and Erna Ómarsdóttir, only recently started their carrier as a band together but their dance and theater productions have been touring all over europe for the past few years. Their speciality is a mixture of unique head-banging and screaming technic. They thrust out something that can be described as electronically distorted metal opera which leaves the audience with smiles on their faces and warmth in their hearts and is possibly a life-altering experience. They are currently working on their first album which will be released at the beginning of next year.
