MATTER & BODY is a multidisciplinary live performance that brings together crafts, dance, music and digital art. With Nina Fradet (Fr), Aoi Higuchi (Jp), Meri Otoshi (Jp), Sagar Patel (Ca) and Masahiko Takeda (Jp). In collaboration with the Koto artist Kohsetsu Imanishi (Jp).

Artist Profile

Nina Fradet

Oléron - Kyoto

Nina Fradet is a French artist and craftswoman.
Interested for several years in building a relationship between Cabinetmaking and Takezaiku – Japanese bamboo basketry – her research is gradually being refined to find its essence in the exercise of line and the consciousness of gestures to bring it to life. Fascinated by the meeting of the arts, Nina builds dialogues between design, technology and visual arts, drawing strength from her degrees in Interior Design and Cabinetmaking, and her two years apprenticeships with craftsmen, artists and designers in Iceland and Japan. Her curiosity for the creative energy generated by encounters now leads Nina to open up her research to other fields, in order to expose the fragile beauty of worked matter beyond fine crafts, to the performing arts.
