“new room” came about as a joint project of “new house”, which will be premiered at THEATRE E9 KYOTO in February 2026 by co-stage, a performing arts company based in Kyoto.
“new room” will use the same script as “new house”, but will be performed in a more “rare steak” way than “new house”.
Seeing a series of recent tragic news, anyone would probably feel that how society is or the existing generally-accepted values have come to the limitation. I feel that it is our pressing task to find a way to escape from the current situation. This piece “new room” will look for a new form in any given situation. Using a minimalistic but radical social apparatus called theatre, I hope to find a clue to look for a new way of co-existence.
