“Various housework that takes place every day as a matter of course is an essential labor that supports our living, yet its value is not fully recognized. I pay my respect to everyone who is involved in housework and try to bring to light the unseen effort and dedication.
I myself spend many hours of the day on housework. This kind of daily act does not stand out and has nothing to do with dramatic events, but it accumulates to shape our life and form the infrastructure of goodwill and trust in society. And isn’t it an important thing that leads to the “living” of humans?
Using a wood carving figure modelled after myself, this exhibition hopes to provide an opportunity in which the simple power of housework and the meaning of people doing housework are once again recognized and it is seen in society in a more positive light.
