This event offers a guided tour and lecture at the former Sanadayama Army Cemetery, the setting of Jun Tsutsui’s work Performing the Cemetery, featured in the festival’s lineup of Shows. Established in 1871 as Japan’s oldest war cemetery, the former Sanadayama Army Cemetery serves as a significant site within Japan’s modern history, with its operations weaving together national history and personal memories. What stories lie behind the rows of tombstones? Experience the atmosphere of this site firsthand.
