“The Methodology of Creating with Apparitions”

This talk features Kaori Endo, an artist who travels to various places in Japan and abroad, including Okinawa and Tohoku. There, she explores the relationship between history, politics, and everyday life, creating works from a craft-based perspective. What kind of trajectory does Endo’s own physical sensations trace as she examines the unique histories of each region? As we delve into the contextual and performative layers of the Asian region that lie at the core of Endo’s practice, the conversation may also touch on ideas for future projects.

Guest: Kaori Endo
Host: Kyoto Experiment Co-artistic directors

With the cooperation of Kyoto City University of Arts, Department of Sculpture, Teppei Kaneuji Studio
