Akemi Takeya

LEMONISM x JAPONISM is part of Akemi Takeya’s LEMONISM series of performances and installations. This is an ongoing, ever-developing project in which she confronts various movements (“isms”) from art history. As part of a collaboration with video artist Naoto Iina, she presents a contemporary reaction and tribute to van Gogh’s Portrait of Père Tanguy through performance art that incorporates her dance, song, and storytelling.
