“Many things in the world have not been named; and many things, even if they have been named, have never been described.”
— Susan Sontag, “Notes on ‘Camp’”, Against Interpretation
What does “camp” mean today? When we create a work at an art college—a temporary community (like a camp) with a place and lessons—we carry with us a self-confidence: the work definitely has value to us. But when we take a wider view, a persistent doubt creeps in: this work is a worthless piece of trash. What does it mean when we (Concept and Media Planning = CaMP), engaged in dialogue, release the work to the outside world regardless?
