Violin Monologue «Paris▷▷Kyoto» FRENCH CONNECTION»+video
The first half of this concert features works from the latter half of the 20th century, including Yoshihisa Taira’s 1975 Convergence III, Boulez’s Anthèmes, and Hersant’s Chant du Sud. After an intermission, the second half brings us to the 21st century, beginning with En Milles Eclats. Inspired by an Ueda Choshu haiku, this piece was originally commissioned by Quartiers Musicaux and Club Péniche, and originally performed as a portrait concert in Yokohama by Yurie Hamuro with composer Édith Canat de Chizy. Prisme by Jarell and Perpetuum Mobile by Mantovani will follow. The work of Pascal Dusapin is also expected to appear in the encore. Unaccompanied compositions by contemporary French composers will be played by violinist Chihiro Inda as she moves about the stage.
