Ballade explores how emotions affect the formation of bodies. Ballade collides, turns, sticks, circulates, and organizes itself. Ballade curls up into a tear, hidden under a mountain of hair. Ballade departs from the notion of friendship. It is a collective endeavor and balancing act of balancing and negotiating. Movements emerge from memories and trust. They unfold in a whirl of lifting each other up, taking along, and pushing upside down.

For a one-night cultural exchange event colliding, intertwining, and blending the art scenes of Kyoto and Vienna, we invite the Viennese performance duo maria mercedes and dancer-choreographer Yu Morishita for a site-specific performance in collaboration with exhibited artworks at COCOTO in Kyoto.
