Kyoto Experiment 2021 Autumn came to a close yesterday on October 24th!
We would like to give our sincere thanks to everyone that came to the festival, the artists who presented wonderful work, all our staff and our supporters.
In a time when things are required to be easy to understand, efficient, useful and cost effective, and the results of things are often measured numerically, naturally, it isn’t easy to create experimental artistic expression that seems to move against this grain. In addition, the pandemic has caused an unprecedented situation and one that humanity has not experienced in recent history. When faced with this kind of situation however humans have continued to, in some way, express the unexplained when overcoming the present. While continuing to ask, “Hey, what the heck is this?!” we have surrounded things difficult to explain.
The most interesting thing however is that there is no answer, and that’s why we continue to think from all different directions. Perhaps this is the foundation of Kyoto Experiment?
We believe the works presented at this year’s festival will allow these kinds of discussions for a long time and we look forward to discussing and talking with you in the future!
