Closing Message 2023
2023.10.23
Kyoto Experiment 2023 successfully came to a close on October 22nd. We are so happy that so many people were able to enjoy this year’s program. We would like to thank everyone who attended the festival, the artists who presented their wonderful works in Kyoto, our volunteer staff who helped support every performance and event, and our KEX supporters!
This year’s key concept was the Japanese word maze maze literally meaning ‘mix mix’ and throughout the festival we were given the opportunity to think about this from all kinds of different perspectives. Sharing a kind of feeling or atmosphere that reflects the times we live in through an artist’s work, and exchanging thoughts and opinions about these works, is something we believe has continued to shape the festival and by extension a part of the city of Kyoto.
We are living in a time where the ever-changing world situation often has a direct and difficult impact on the festival, however with the help of everyone’s wisdom, we will persevere to ensure the festival continues and look forward to sharing more inspiring and moving moments with you again next year. Take care in the cold weather and see you next year!
