Closing Message 2024
2024.10.28
October 27th Kyoto Experiment 2024 successfully came to a close. We’d like to express our gratitude to all our audiences, the artists who shared their amazing works and to everyone who shared their knowledge and discoveries through various research projects and talks.
Recovering from the damage caused by the pandemic has been a major issue for the performing arts world but we felt this year’s festival was proof of the energy and power of both artists and audience to overcome this challenge; as well as our staff that work hard to connect them. Although we plan and program the festival each year, when October comes around, the festival seems to take root and grow by itself. It is a dialogue between artists and audience, and we are always humbled to see the energy, warmth and curiosity from both sides.
As various events unfold every day and our world changes, the festival provides a space for us to gather, share and discuss performing arts that respond to our contemporary society. It is an opportunity to experience in depth this form of expression that is universal.
Kyoto Experiment 2024 also convinced us that we can expand our imaginations, and based on the experience and knowledge we have gained from you all this year, we will continue preparations for next year’s festival to support further experiments in the performing arts!
We look forward to seeing you all again soon!
