About the Film
A documentary film that follows the period up to the opening of international performing arts festival Kyoto Experiment 2021 Spring, the eleventh edition of the festival and first to be headed by new directors. Amid preparations to realize a new festival, including a restructuring of the program and new logo, the team is forced to make various changes and cancellations due to the effects of Covid-19. Centering on interviews with festival staff, the documentary records the pursuit of a festival structure and ‘experimental’ artistic expression for the future of the performing arts under difficult circumstances.
