The space at gallery Unfold will be turned into the choreography of lights by Chuang Ho’s Faraway and Hsiao Yuchi’s Within the Moment.
What are portrayed in Faraway, a series of hand-drawn animation works, are extremely small human figures and animals. At a first glance, each of them appears as random brush strokes without any meaning, but when they are connected as an animation, they can be recognized with somehow familiar movement. The blank spaces in the video are complemented by the viewers’ memories and, the smaller they are drawn and the further they are seen from, the larger the viewers’ imagination expand.
Within the Moment is an installation of lights, which attempts to express the observation of everyday scenes and the urban space through the fragments of memories in texts and photos. Slight lights and shadows are the clues to recognizing the space. Transition and remaining of lights, and the traces of time unfold the narrative, and quietly reveal each moment of daily life.

Chuang Ho
Animation Artist. Centering his practice on expanding the characteristics of hand-drawn animation, he explores the ascetic labor inherent in its production process, as well as how emotions accumulate across time and space.
Hsiao Yu-Chi
Mixed Media Artist. Working primarily with video and textiles, she observes the traces and symbols left behind in daily life, creating works that highlight the extraordinary moments hidden within the mundane.
