“Let’s take off our job titles and sit on a picnic blanket.”
parking by Chiniashi : Feet on Ground is a field-work-type performance project, with the core activity of just sitting on a picnic blanket in the park, which presents to society the “affirmation of presence”.
As part of More Experiments, the fringe section of Kyoto Experiment 2026, we will open a picnic blanket at Higashi Honganji Temple’s Ohigashi-san Hiroba Square and at Maruyama Park, putting into practice parking. Anyone can join in and spend time freely.
parking is a practice that Yuki Uemizu, the group’s leader, has been conducting since 2024, opening a picnic blanket at the park to set-up a place. It generates a place where one can be just “oneself who is not anyone” to share its presence with others, irrelevant of professions or job titles.
Please come and experience the time of being in the same place with someone unknown, leaving away from the daily roles.

A project unit aiming to expand into society the significance of the practice “opening up spaces by spreading leisure sheets in public parks,” initiated in 2024 by representative Yuki Agemizu. Three members with distinct expertise—Yuki Agemizu (Park Practitioner), Yu Mizukami (Anthropology Practitioner), and Makiko Yamazato (Life Practitioner / Curator)—share a single inquiry through their creative process. Standing close to the ground, the unit presents works, actions, and spaces that actively affirm human existence.
