This road, where there is a gentle wind,
feels like the one I’ve walked before, or not.
It is now winter.
Acacia flowers blossom in early summer.

From that nostalgic song,
comes a story of “love” uniquely written by Minoru Betsuyaku.

A masterpiece of Minoru Betsuyaku, the leading figure of the absurd play in Japan, is performed by Kyoto-based actors Yumi Hirota and Daigaku Futakuchi at UrBANGUILD in Kyoto Kiyamachi.

A performance project by Kyoto-based actors Yumi Hirota and Daigaku Futakuchi, staging plays by Minoru Betsuyaku—a leading figure in Japanese Absurdist Theatre. Hirota, renowned for her deep reading and performances of Betsuyaku’s works and fairy-tale recitations, pairs with Futakuchi, a critically acclaimed actor awarded the 10th Kansai Contemporary Theatre Actor Award and featured in the NHK drama Wonderwall. Together they build intimate stage experiences. Active with numerous performances since 2010, they have also conducted domestic tours in recent years.
