This is a piece of puppetry made of various elements, including string puppets, object theatre, drama and dance.
After the performance, there will be a talk & lecture session entitled “My personal reflection on puppetry”.
I work as an actor and, recently, also as a puppeteer, and this will be a place for me to talk about many different things focused on the “acting”: the difference in the acting of the two types of performances, and the common things, what I find interesting, as well as puppetry works that I have worked on, and how this piece The Ice Duo has started.
Atelier MINOMUSHI, the venue of this performance, is home to the company Marionette MINOMUSHI and is a wonderful space where you can see many marionettes exhibited which are made by the company.

Artist Profile
Risa Tsuruta
Shiga
Actor from Kanagawa Prefecture, belonging to the theater company “Hakuchumu.” Recent appearances include Hakuchumu’s Sazareishiyon, Space Not Blank’s Views, and Enban ni Noru Ha’s Virtual Ataxia. Interested in the relationship between puppets and the bodies of actors operating them, the artist began working as a puppeteer in 2023. Involved as a support artist with Deaf Puppet Theater Hitomi. Relocating to Shiga Prefecture in 2026, the artist focuses primarily on string puppetry production.
