Based in Nara Prefecture, Tanpopo-No-Ye produces diverse projects from the perspective of art and care, and in 2024 they initiated the “S-1 Grand Prix,” an open call for performers with disabilities. The eponymous “S” stands for shogai (disability), show, start, star, and more; and the program introduces new talents who come from all over the Kinki region, as well as works that subvert conventional standards. What is currently emerging in the space between care and experimental physical expression? This talk will explore the current state of artistic expression, with a focus on the activities of Tanpopo-No-Ye.
Guest: Shizuka Morishita (Tanpopo-No-Ye / Good Job! Center Kashiba)
