Portuguese playwright and director Tiago Rodrigues works at the forefront of contemporary theater, and also serves as Artistic Director of the Festival d’Avignon, France’s most prestigious international theater festival. At last year’s festival, we presented a reading performance of his play, Dans la mesure de l’impossible, which was based on his research into the frontlines of international humanitarian aid. This year, we will present By Heart , which is both directed and performed by Rodrigues. In this talk, he will unpack his works and share his insights about his varied approaches and the starting point of his creative process.
